Science fiction is a form of fiction that deals principally with the impact of actual or imagined science upon society or individuals. Science fiction is based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes, frequently portraying space or time travel and life on other planets. Science fiction permeates our world, culture and live. Everyday the fantastic is made fact by the technologies that continually reshape our understanding of all that we experience.

 New discoveries are always around the corner, which is to say more than simply our context changes, for it changes in radically unanticipated ways. The deep meaningful questions, considered against this dynamic and modern backdrop, that all peoples have historically faced, circle around the subject of just what does it mean to be human. Beyond the humanistic and ethical thrust of this query, the genre of science fiction pushes against, scrambles up, and attempts to climb over the obstacles that existence thrusts upon us in our search for the answers and meanings to this broad question. Science fiction plays on concepts of paranoia, anxieties, invasion and exploration that are often at the centre of social and cultural issues of modern day life here on Earth. Science fiction is a genre of fiction in which the stories often tell about science and technology of the future. It is important to note that science fiction has a relationship with the principles of science these stories involve partially truepartially fictitious laws or theories of science. It should not be completely unbelievable, because it then ventures into the genre fantasy. The plot creates situations different from those of both the present day and the known past. Science fiction texts also include a human element, explaining what effect new discoveries, happenings and scientific developments will have on us in the future. Science fiction is often about the future. It can be about imaginary new science and inventions such as spaceships time machines and robots. Science fiction stories are often in a world that is very different from the real world. They can have science and tools that do not exist in reality. Science fiction stories often take place on other worlds. The study of science fiction is the critical assessment, interpretation, and discussion of science fiction literature, film, new media, fandom, and fan fiction. Good science fiction can amaze and motivate, warn, raise questions and spark the imagination .It is in an unstoppable expansive force that is certainly not limited one particular genre. Science Fiction and Fantasy is, or has been, present in your life at some point. The genre has helped progress society in many ways. Sci-fi and Fantasy are for the creative. One cannot embrace the wild and imaginative plot lines without the ability to think creatively. Sometimes the fantastical ideas presented in the books and shows are absorbed by these creative and inventive minds and applied to the real world. Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek once said, “For me science fiction is a way of thinking, a way of logic that bypasses a lot of nonsense.
